Anniversary of The Great Journey

"Ages ago when Maori first settled to New Zealand some of the more adventurous ones decided there was still some more sailing to do. Boldly crossing the Pacific, battling the storms of Cape Horn and dodging privateers in the Atlantic Ocean the strongest sailors made it to Europe. As much of the mainland was already settled by soft vanillafaces they decided to go further north, eventually settling to a land in Fennoscandia quite different from New Zealand.

In Finland this is called The Great Journey (of our forefathers).

The day of reckoning is at hand. The Maori have come a full circle and will test if there is any of that adventurous spirit left in you present day kiwis that made our greatgreat-and-so-forth-grandparents
to make it all the way around the globe.

The trials take place in the sandy beach of Oriental Bay where the Maori once started the Journey. Long forgotten Finnish/Maori dishes will be served to those who announce their attendance to the trials on October 23rd the latest. Both the mind and the body will be tested to find who still has what it takes to undertake the Journey.
